Too hot to handle...

With temperatures soaring to a scorching 40 degrees Celsius this week, I couldn't resist but share these looooovely images with you !!

Tear-drop drink dispenser from Anthropologie

Ginger ale, lemonade, sangria, sherbets, punches, slushies, smoothies, anything you wish to guzzle this summer...these dispensers seem so perrrrrfect!!

Having talked so much about sweltering summers and super drink dispensers let me share a few simple refreshing summer drinks to put into them as well!:-)
Water melons are a plenty this season, so you could try this simple recipe below.

Watermelon Cooler
(serves 9)
3 cups coarsely chopped & de-seeded watermelon
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup lightly packed fresh mint leaves
2 cups white grape juice
1 teaspoon freshly shredded lime peel
3/4 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 inch ginger
4 cups club soda, chilled
fresh mint sprigs
watermelon wedges or balls

Place watermelon and ginger in a blender or food processor.
Blend until smooth and strain the puree with a fine mesh sieve.Discard pulp.
In a large bowl combine sugar and mint.Slightly crush the mint leaves with the back of a spoon.
Add the grape juice, lime juice, lime peel, water melon puree, stirring well until the sugar is dissolved.
Stir in the club soda.
Serve in glasses over ice.
Garnish with fresh mint sprigs and water melon wedges or balls.

Fruit Ice Mocktail
(serves 9)
250 ml fresh orange juice
250 ml cranberry juice
125 ml fresh lemon juice
1 litre sparkling water

Pour the orange, cranberry and lemon juice into separate ice cube trays and freeze.
When frozen place a mixture of each juice cube into tall glasses and pour sparkling water.
Serve immediately.

Easy Orange Lime Slushie
1 orange peeled and chopped
1 lime peeled and chopped
12 ice cubes

In a blender combine oranges, lime and ice cubes.
Blend it until smooth.
Refrigerate for 5-10 minutes.
Pour into glasses and serve.
